What is Pelvic Physiotherapy?

At Rise and Recover, I provide physiotherapy tailored specifically for women, with a focus on prenatal, postnatal, and pelvic health.

My goal is to help you feel confident, comfortable, and supported at every stage of life — whether you’re preparing for birth, recovering after pregnancy, or managing pelvic health concerns.

Pelvic health physiotherapy focuses on restoring comfort, strength, and function to the muscles and structures of the pelvis. These muscles play a vital role in bladder, bowel, and sexual function, as well as in supporting your core and pelvic organs.

Through personalised assessment and treatment, I can help with a wide range of pelvic health concerns, including:

  • Bladder and bowel issues

  • Pelvic organ prolapse

  • Persistent pelvic pain

  • Pregnancy and postnatal recovery

  • Recovery after pelvic surgery

As a specialist pelvic health physiotherapist, I bring advanced training and experience to deliver evidence-based, compassionate care that is tailored to your unique needs and goals.

Please note that while my primary focus is on women’s pelvic health, I am also experienced in helping individuals with bladder, bowel, and pelvic pain concerns across different stages of life.

About Me

Hi, I’m Samreen Syed, a physiotherapist with a deep passion for women’s health, wellbeing, and empowerment.

At Rise and Recover, I offer a calm and supportive space where you can talk openly about your concerns and work toward lasting recovery. I believe every woman deserves to feel comfortable in her own body — and I’m here to help make that possible through compassionate, personalised treatment and education.

Alongside my private practice, I also work full-time as a NHS UCR Physiotherapist, where I continue to support people in their rehabilitation and recovery journeys. This broad experience enriches my approach and allows me to bring a well-rounded perspective to my pelvic health practice.

I am HCPC registered and a proud member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) and the Pelvic, Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy (POGP). My specialist areas include:

  • Continence management – helping women manage and overcome bladder and bowel control issues.

  • Prolapse management – supporting symptom relief and restoring pelvic support.

  • Bladder and bowel care for older women – promoting dignity, comfort, and quality of life at every stage.

At the heart of my work is a simple mission: to empower women to understand their bodies, recover confidently, and thrive with renewed wellbeing.

And because I truly value connection, I love listening to stories and getting to know the amazing women I work with. So when you come to the clinic, we can take our time, chat comfortably — and yes, even share a cup of tea during your session!
